Tom Jackson inspires audiences with his empowering words and uplifting songs. Tom was born on the One Arrow reserve in Saskatchewan and from age 15 spent seven years living on the streets of Winnipeg. This experience built the foundation of his remarkable character - tenacity, leadership, dertimination to succeed, and an altruistic capacity to care for others.
Today, he is well known for his award-winning role on the hit CBC TV series, North of 60, and as a singer/songwriter. Tom is a Juno recipient of the Humanitarian Award(presented in 2007).
Tom Jackson is an Officer of the Order of Canada. He has been recognized with eight Honorary Degrees by Canadian Universities, including Lakehead, Laurentian and Trent. Time Magazine named him one of Canada' leading humanitarian activists.
As part of his drive to end hunger, Tom has raised $5.6 million for food banks and family agencies across Canada.
