Since 1988, The Sharing Place has been providing emergency food supplies to Orillia-area residents in dire circumstances.
OUR MISSION: We work to ensure that no-one in the community goes hungry.
The Sharing Place assists clients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Noon until 3:00 p.m., and Tuesdays from 6-7:30 p.m.
Clients receive five days worth of nutritious food, including frozen ground beef, fresh eggs and potatoes, frozen orange juice, margarine, and modest allotments of fresh fruit and vegetables. Most items on The Sharing Place menu are canned (pork & beans, ravioli, corn, peas & carrots medley, etc.).
We encourage you to keep your visits to once a month. Information about other sources of assistance in the community including the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, Lighthouse Christian Ministries soup kitchen, and St. James' Loonie Lunch is made readily available.
You are required to show I.D. for yourself and for every member of your family, each time you visit. We ask for your current address, your source of income, and any change in your financial circumstances.
Our volunteers strive to make everyone feel welcome.
